New Zealand is fast becoming the premier off season destination with many international race, freeski and snowboard teams training there. Here is an opportunity to gain your qualification during the summer months, and then use the Rookie Academy's job placement agency to get your teaching career up and running in the Northern Hemisphere.

BASI has 4 levels of certification and provides working opportunities in snowsports instruction in countries throughout the world.

BASI are proud to work with the Rookie Academy to provide training and exams in the southern hemisphere and this year Rookies are offering ski instructor training courses to help you achieve your BASI Level 1, 2 and Level 3 certification.

Level 2 is the minimum ski instructor standard for employment outside the UK, so it is essential for any budding ski instructor wanting to work in an open mountain environment. The Level 2 exam consists of both technical and teaching training and assessment spread over 8 days at the end of the training course.

Level 3 is an internationally recognised standard and the highest qualification for most skiing nations in the world. Upon completion of all the modules involved you will be awarded with an ISIA stamp intended for international instructors working full time within International Snowsports Schools. The Level 3 exam will be a technical exam spread over 5 days at the end of the training course.

The Level 2 and 3 courses will run over 5 weeks including the exams. You will get to ski with experienced and inspirational trainers and the chance to walk away with a certification at the end of it! For more information, please click here
