BASI announces Avalanche uniform sponsorship for National Education Team 2018 - 2022

Avalanche clothing and BASI have confirmed a sponsorship partnership for BASI’s National Education Team as they make their preparations for the World Interski Congress in Pamporovo, Bulgaria in March 2019. Avalanche will sponsor the team uniform (jacket, pants and mid layer puffer) in a sponsorship package worth £26,700 (RRP).

Avalanche is one of the leading brands of professional ski uniforms across Europe. Their gear is designed to withstand the harshest weather conditions and they have supplied the BASI trainers’ uniform since 2014. As BASI’s team uniform sponsors for World Interski 2015, Great Britain was one of the best dressed nations on and off the mountain and the striking white and blue uniform turned heads and attracted considerable comment from other nations.  The new Avalanche - BASI World Interski 2019 uniform will be unveiled at the end of 2018 and we know it’s going to turn heads again in Pamporovo.

Roy Henderson, BASI’s NET Manager said:

“Avalanche produce bespoke technical uniforms that look great and are hugely practical and comfortable to wear. We are grateful for their continued support. Having a uniform with a high visual impact that performs well and looks good gives confidence to the team’s overall performance, not to mention morale.”

The National Education Team expect to take delivery of their new Avalanche uniforms towards the end of 2018.

Leanora Jones-Parry, Avalanche’s UK Sales Agent commented:

“Avalanche is delighted to be supporting BASI’s National Education Team at one of the snowsports industries most prestigious events and we wish BASI a hugely successful event.”

The Role of BASI’s National Education Team

The role of NET is not simply to do some great synchronized ski demos at the World Congress but to work with the BASI training manager and other BASI trainers over the four year project cycle to develop, improve and refine what we do around all BASI course content, delivery and assessment.  NET deliver at the trainers conference, they train the trainers, lead on the trainers quality assurance programme, develop and refine changes to our system, write and edit our training manuals and workbooks and present and test changes on the trainers and ultimately the membership.

History of Interski

Interski International was founded in Arlberg (Austria) in 1951 and every 4 years organises the biggest Snowsport Congress in the world. The Interski congress exists for the specific purpose of sharing knowledge and understanding  of ski teaching methodologies and techniques among Interski’s associated nations.

In the beginning, it was made up of only alpine countries, today it is made up of 37 nations, including Great Britain, represented by BASI
