Course Price: £729
This is a 10 day on-mountain training and assessment course in which Technical and Teaching skills are developed and assessed.
The Level 2 Instructor course has been designed to help you gain the skills and ability to teach people
to telemark on snow. This course follows on from the Level 1 Instructor course.
The course is physically demanding, as you will spend two blocks of five days involved in lectures,
self study, telemark technical skiing and teaching. While it is not necessary to be an amazing athlete it does help to
have a good level of personal fitness which in turn helps to reduce fatigue and the potential for injury.
On successful completion of all training, students will have developed their technical competency and understanding of the underlying principles of safe and appropriate ski teaching. Telemark Level 2 Instructors can teach Telemark skiing within the confines of a patrolled ski area only and should not lead mountain tours without another qualification. e.g. Winter Mountain Leader in the UK. Individuals who do not reach the required level may be required to resit all or part of the course.
If a candidate fails both the Teaching and Technical elements of the Level 2 course they must retake the whole 10 day level 2 course.
If a candidate fails either the Teaching or Technical element of the course, they can book onto the Level 2 re-assessment course (Technical or Teaching).
If a candidate is exempt from Teaching or Technical, they can book onto the Level 2 re-assessment course to be assessed in Technical or Teaching to complete the Level 2 qualification.
When a L2/L3 Combined course is running, members can book the first week for a technical reassessment, and the second week for a teaching reassessment. Please contact the office directly to book this.
**If the course is showing as full and you wish to only book one week, please contact the office as there may still be space available on your desired week**
