Andorra

BASI is delighted to be heading back to this beautiful part of Europe. There has been heavy investment in both tourism infrastructure and snowsports facilities in Andorra. With direct flights to both Toulouse and Barcelona and a range of affordable accommodation options in both Soldeu and Arinsal, we hope that Members will enjoy returning to the Principality.

The Skiing in Andorra is the best in the Pyrenees. Toulouse in the south of France lies 140kms to the north while Barcelona, on Spain's east coast, is 180kms to the east. This tiny mountain state boasts over 60 peaks of 2500m or more and has 5 main snowsport areas, of which Pas de la Casa, on its eastern border with France, is the largest; the neighbouring resort of Soldeu-El Tarter is where our course will be based.

Arinsal

The Vallnord area consists of 3 separate resorts in the tax free principality of Andorra. These are Pal, Arinsal and Arcalis. The main town where everyone will be based is Arinsal.  The tax and duty free status of Andorra has always made it an affordable destination where you can still have a pint after a day on the hill without breaking the bank.

Welcome Meeting

If you have received official communication from BASI that your place on the course has been confirmed you should be available to attend a welcome meeting with your Trainer on the evening prior to the start of your course. This will usually take place at 18.30 pm in the reception of the Hotel Montane which is opposite the gondola.

If you cannot make the welcome meeting then you should meet your BASI Trainer at 08.30 am on the morning of the first day at the BOTTOM of the main gondola in town.

Soldeu

All but lost between France and Spain, the pocket-sized principality of Andorra comprises over 60 mountain peaks. Andorra covers an area of just under 500 sq.kms and has a population of around 70,000. The resort of Soldeu-El Tarter (in the Grandvalira area) is where BASI courses are based. Soldeu has great skiing, good lifts, tree skiing, chutes, 193 km (120 miles) of pistes and the best snow park in the Pyrenees. Visit the Grandvalira web site for more info'.
